New art, and a WIP

Sorry about the lack of Friday Features, I'm hoping to start those up again next Friday.

First image is an ACEO completed the day before yesterday, it took a long time to finish, the shadows were giving me a hard time. I finally got to a point where I was pretty happy with it, but the scanner killed the colors and shading. The dragon is actually a very nice opalescent pink and blue IRL, and the shading and colors look a lot better, especially the blue shadows.

The second image is one of an upcoming series of ACEO paintings for Anbessa, featuring his Rauna species. The character below is named Hamamelis.

OMG, Art!

I know I've missed a few Friday Features, I've had a lot of stuff on my mind and it's been hard to remember my Blog exists, I should have something to post this Friday.

I actually finished some art a while ago, plus I dug up some doodles while reorganizing the bedroom. Click to view details.

The first one's a commission for Carowyn, of her husky character, she requested an Egyptian theme:



The next three are some sticker doodles i did to relax a few months ago:

Look, ma! I'm being productive!

For once. For a while there I was started to get a little depressed and very unmotivated, and I was afraid I was going to slip into another bout of art block, but now I feel more or less ok. I think it might be because I've started hoeing the garden for next year, physical exercise really seems to help me when I feel crappy. Blister still suck, though :<

Anyway, I finished an ACEO commission and a trade yesterday, so it feels pretty good to have two more things crossed of my to-do list.

First is a commission for Synful-Lynkx, of one of her characters.



Second is my half of a trade with Melanippos, of her anthro pegasus character with lionfish spines.



Lastly is a sketchy WIP of a personal project, it is more or less an expanded version of THIS IMAGE, and will be of a similar theme and color combination. It's pretty rough right now, but feel free to critique it. I'm planning on putting a clump of lilies on the left, in the rotted tree trunk, and on the right, next to the partially submerged tree branch.

Art Progress!

John and Heather (boyfriend's brother and his wife) came over and took some of the stuff out of the house, they took the dresser that was in front of my work area over to Amy's (Amy is Ben's sister) so I actually have space to paint and draw now, whooooo! It's still messy, but at least I can sit at the table instead of trying to work on the couch.

Finished the lineart for Allytha's painting, and I finished one of the dragon bookmarks:
