New art - 'Montane Wyvern' ACEO

I started this painting in January (although this dragon has been sitting in my sketchbook for maybe a year or so), finished the dragon, and set it aside not knowing what to put in the background. The shading has more depth to it in real life, althought the colors are still fairly soft.

Mushroom fairy WIP

Dug this up while I was going through some art to sell (I'm running an art sale right now, check my journal if you're interested). I haven't touched it in months, I got stuck trying to figure out how to do the lighting, put it aside, and never got around to picking it up again. Yes, the moss took a stupidly long time to paint.

There's really not too much left to do in terms of actual work, I just need to figure out exactly what I need to do before I do it. Shade and re ink the fairy, add some more water droplets, touch up the background. Initially it had another big tree on the right side, but I think I'll just cut that bit off because it's not too interesting.

I hope to finish this eventually, but in case I never do, I'll upload it as is. I left the taped up border because I like it for some reason.

Watercolor, gouache, micron and gel pen.

New art, and updates!

Sorry about the lack of updates recently, I haven't been getting a whole lot of artwork done, as I haven't had much privacy, or a proper work area. But, as of a few days ago, I have a nice, quiet area to work, so I finished a few warm up ACEOs. The last two contain nudity, you can click the images to full view an uncensored version. They are all for sale, click the images for auction links (warning: Furbuy website is full of adult content, careful what you click!):

And here's some line art from a month or so ago that I will hopefully finish soon:

Aaaaaaannnnd... some artwork I did this spring for Furoticon, I'd link to their website, but it's 99% furry porn, and I try to keep my blog as work safe as an artist who draws a lot of boobs can.

Friday Feature: Tod Wills

Sorry this is so late, I wrote it up on Friday, set it aside thinking I'd edit it a bit later, and then forgot about it. Oops! :P Like that's never happened before...

Tod Wills has a super cute style, his store has lots of fun animal and fantasy related designs (also dinosaurs, yay!).

You can see more of his work on his WEBSITE, or you can visit his Zazzle store HERE. He also has a webcomic, called Ekwara, which you can read HERE.

Also, don't forget about my EBAY SALE! Some of the auctions end in less than two days!

New art: Painted Dragon ACEO

Ok, so it's not finished, and I don't know if I'll ever finish it. I messed up the shadows and I really don't feel like messing with it. Maybe one day in the far future I'll finish it, but for now I need to set it aside because it's distracting me. So, in case I never finish it, here it is :P

Epiphytes line art

Line art for the next painting in my series of anthro dragon pin ups. I've been working on this on and off for maybe a week now, it's been pretty hectic over here so I haven't been able to concentrate on art as much as I'd like :(

I'm kinda bothered that she's kinda similar to the first lady in this series, and the fact that they're both in forests full of epiphytes, but I plan on coloring this lady with warm tones, and I'll have to make sure I vary the environments I put the rest of them in. At any rate this one should be a bit more colorful than the other one.

WIP: Willow dragon ACEO

I've been so busy and stressed lately I haven't been drawing and painting very much, so I figured I'd turn one of my sketches into a little ACEO to relax me, and as a warm up before I try to force myself to work on some larger stuff. Also, I've had this hot pressed watercolor paper sitting around forever, and I've been dying to experiment with it.

Not a lot of planning went into this, I drew the dragon, and then I slapped a background on it (a dragon in a jungle, how different!), anatomy's also pretty effed.

BLAH BLAH BLAH BITCH BITCH WHINE

ok sorry. shutting up.

WIP: Possible dragon lady series?

I've been meaning to do a series of nude anthro dragon ladies for over a year now, but none of the sketches I did along that theme ever really appealed to me, and then I kinda forgot about it until now. I've had a sketch of this particular lady sitting around for a while, but it's too big and I just don't have time to finish something that large right now, so I came up with something smaller. This image measures 4" x 8.5"

Click to full view, I didn't bother to censor this one, I think most people can handle a little butt/side boob combo.

Artwork for the new Furoticon card set, since this card was spoiled HERE, I get to post it early :)

You can read more about this card, and the rest of the deck, at Furoticon.com, but be warned, while none of the work I contributed contains any adult content, the website and card deck definitely does.

Lentil dragon WIP

A little postcard sized relaxation piece, I've been pushing myself so hard lately I ended up with art block for a bit, so I figured I should chill out a little and try to do some personal work.

Working title, so called because he was somehow inspired by the lentil plants I'm growing :1

Getting back to trades and commissions soon, promise.

Big commission sale, limited slots!

I'm a few days away (at the most) from finishing the last of my commissions, so I thought I'd see if I could get a few more, since money's still kinda tight around here, and I'd like to be able to visit my family and friends at least once this spring before my boyfriend starts working almost every day and we lose our chance until August, which would suck because we haven't been able to visit since Fall.

So, for a little while, I'm taking $100 off my full color, large (about 8.5"x11", which is as big as I usually go right now) full background commissions.

Example 1

Example 2

These normally cost about $250, but for now they're $150. Something with a less complicated background, that would normally cost $200 (no example) would now cost only $100.

The only catch is, I get more or less complete artistic freedom, I can draw your character in whatever pose I want, in whatever environment I want, in my choice of either marker/multimedia or watercolor/multimedia. They will probably be in a jungle or on a funky alien planet, something organic and exotic, probably in the company of some funky dragons or other critters. I promise to draw your character as close to your references as possible, and not to draw them doing anything out of character/weird/whatever. Extra characters are $25 each, I will draw up to four characters in one painting. I don't charge extra for the random creatures I might throw in, they count as a part of the background.

I'm offering a similar deal on ACEOs, one character (usually waist or hip-up) plus a very detailed background for $30, normal price would be closer to $40 or so, depending on the complexity. Again, I get more or less full artistic freedom.

Example (older artwork)

Make sure you read my Commission terms, if you're not familiar with them.

If you'd like to commission me, please email me at Tealnewcomb@metalkirin.com

Friday feature - Julian Bunker

It's been too long since I've featured the work of a personal friend, so this week's featured artist is photographer Julian Bunker.

His Favebook page is HERE for anyone who's interested.

Hanging out with a photographer really lets you see in person how much work goes into taking a good photo.

Not all of his work is black and white, these just happen to be some of my favorites:
