New art - 'Space Lilies' ACEO sketch

Sorry for the lack of activity lately, the winter doldrums gave me art block, and now that it's getting nice out I've got spring fever and I swear I can not sit still or focus on a task for more than five minutes without wanting to run around outside like a crazy person.

Anyway, in an effort to get out of my art block, I've been trying to force myself to do a few ACEOs, so here's a relatively quick one I started maybe a month ago, got bored with, and then forced myself to finish a couple days ago.

This painting is for sale HERE.

More WIPs

Still trying to get used to painting again, still sticking to small stuff like ACEOs, but I keep screwing up/giving up/etc... here are two I might actually finish (click to full view):

Line art: Entwined serpents

Trying to force myself to draw, so I liberated some random critters from my sketchbook. I actually inked this a couple days ago, I just keep forgetting to upload it. They kinda look like sea cucumber monsters.

New Artwork, Flying Painted Dragon sticker design

Sorry for posting three times in one day, I'm done for now, I swear!

One of those projects that took longer to do than I'd hoped, I ended up having to redo the wings twice, but I'm glad I forced myself to finish it, because I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Still some parts that bother me, but I don't think I've ever finished something that I was absolutely 100% happy with. I'll be turning this and hopefully at least 4 more dragon designs into stickers once they're all done :)

The original is for sale HERE.

Prints are for sale HERE.

Bags, Mugs, T-shirts, Etc, for sale HERE.

Here's the first (unfinished) version, it looks lighter because I forgot to mess with the levels in Photoshop, I used the same marker colors:

New lineart: Flying Painted Dragon

Same type of dragon as my last ACEO, I felt bad for not finishing him, and I'd like to do a dragon sticker set eventually, so this will probably be a part of that.

Still trying to kick my art block, I think I'm finally getting over it.

Patch TogetherToy design: Orchid Wyvern

I've had this sketch sitting around forever, and I finally got around to finishing it up a few days ago. If you're unfamiliar with how Patch Together works, users upload toy and T-shirt designs, and other users vote on them, if there's enough interest, and the Patch Together team thinks it's got good potential, the design is put into production.

If you'd like to see this design turned into a toy, please vote for it, and spread the word to your friends!

WIP: Willow dragon ACEO

I've been so busy and stressed lately I haven't been drawing and painting very much, so I figured I'd turn one of my sketches into a little ACEO to relax me, and as a warm up before I try to force myself to work on some larger stuff. Also, I've had this hot pressed watercolor paper sitting around forever, and I've been dying to experiment with it.

Not a lot of planning went into this, I drew the dragon, and then I slapped a background on it (a dragon in a jungle, how different!), anatomy's also pretty effed.

BLAH BLAH BLAH BITCH BITCH WHINE

ok sorry. shutting up.

Lentil dragon WIP

A little postcard sized relaxation piece, I've been pushing myself so hard lately I ended up with art block for a bit, so I figured I should chill out a little and try to do some personal work.

Working title, so called because he was somehow inspired by the lentil plants I'm growing :1

Getting back to trades and commissions soon, promise.

Klem ACEO

My half of an ACEO trade with icondanji-isthmus, of her character Klem.

I wish I would have put a wash of blue or something over the whole thing to make it more obvious that he's underwater, but I didn't think of it until it was almost done, and a wash of color at that point would have lifted a good deal of the paint off of the illustration board I was using. Oh well, I'm still happy with it, and I learned something.

Huge art sale! Reduced prices on prints and original ACEOs.

I'm trying to raise some money so I can visit my friends and family for a few days, fix my bike AND buy some chicken wire to keep the rabbits out of the vegetable garden, so I'm running a print and original ACEO sale in addition to my ACEO commission sale, which is still going on, if anyone's interested. I don't expect art money to cover all of those things, but it's been a while since Ben and I have had any leather work to do (though that should hopefully pick up again soon) so if we can just take care of one or two of these, it would be a huge help.

It's been a while since I've put something like this together, so I hope I'm not missing any information! If anything looks confusing, or you have any questions, please let me know. You can comment here, or email me at: Tealnewcomb@metalkirin.com

All prices USD, my paypal address is: babieslovehammers@gmail.com Please fill out the form below, and read all instructions before sending payment.

The sale ends March 30th, since we're planing to leave for my home town on the 1st, so I'll have plenty of time to ship everything out.

These ACEOs (as well as all of my artwork) have been stored in drawers, out of the light, and away from smoke or anything else that could cause damage to them. They do NOT come from a smoke free, pet free home (we have Cats, Dogs, and a Bird), although it's been almost a year since anyone's smoked in the house, and even then my boyfriend's mother was not a heavy smoker. As I mentioned before, they've always been kept in drawers, so any exposure to pet dandruff or smoke is minimal, I just thought it would be prudent to mention this in case anyone reading this has a severe allergy or something.

Prints are made with high quality ink on matte photo paper, minimum DPI is 300, but almost all of them are at least 500 DPI.

To order, Email me at: Tealnewcomb@metalkirin.com

These are the ACEOs I currently have available as prints and originals, click the images to full view, prices for originals are listed below the images:

I can also make almost any of my paintings/drawings available as a high quality ACEO sized print with little loss of detail. These seriously look really nice, my printer's pretty awesome and it gets all the little details, I tested it by printing THIS image and THIS image, even scaled down to ACEO size they look so much crisper than they do on my computer screen. Because the format will be different, I will probably have to crop the image a bit, for most paintings this will barely be noticeable, but some longer format images will have to be cropped significantly. If there's something you'd like me to make available in ACEO format, just let me know and I can send you an example of what it would look like cropped.

These are some of the large pieces I currently have available as prints and originals, click the images to full view, prices for originals are listed HERE, if anyone is interested:

Work in progress: Club moss dragon

I finally forced myself to finishing inking my first non-ACEO in a bajillion years, whoo!

Something I've been working on on and off for a few weeks now, it's based on a concept I've had in mind since middle school. Originally it was going to be a part of a comic, but I gave up on that until recently, I've realized lately that I should try to revive it, so we'll see what happens.

Brown micron pen on Bristol paper 8.5 x 5 inches.

Prints available on Zazzle.

Original for sale on my Etsy.

Trying to push myself out of my artblock and force myself to improve a bit. I'm very happy with the creature but I got sick of trying to make the background work after about the 4th try so I said eff it and painted it black.

Watercolor, gouache and graphite on Bristol.
